US Immigration Paralegal

2+ Years' Experience

Langford Law is currently seeking a US Immigration Paralegal to join our business immigration practice in Calgary. This position will appeal to candidates who enjoy continuous learning and being productive in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Working with lawyers and legal assistants, the main responsibilities include:

  • Creating, organizing and maintaining client and administrative data and files;
  • Corresponding internally and externally to obtain and provide information;
  • Evaluating and identifying program qualifications, researching processes and requirements for different types of applications;
  • Drafting correspondence, documents and completing application materials;
  • Diarizing files and applications to meet deadlines and monitor processing in case management system;
  • Scheduling and assisting with preparation for client meetings;
  • Various administrative duties including, organizing and managing files, tracking dates, inputting data into case management software and spreadsheets, photocopying/faxing submission packages, arranging couriers;
  • Creating or assisting with time entries and billing; and
  • Other duties as required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as an immigration paralegal, preferably with US immigration matters;
  • Excellent communication and aptitude for learning;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Able to manage and prioritize work as instructed;
  • Highly organized, dependable and performance-oriented;
  • Positive attitude towards progressive technology;
  • Skilled in document creation, formatting and management systems;
  • Proficient with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams;
  • Excellent English language skills including proofreading, spelling and grammar.
